In this beautiful region of central Italy, each tourist can find in fact any kind of territory, from the sea-coast to the high mountains, but also art and cultural towns, natural parks and a lot of sport attractions.
Of course among the most visited natural reserves of all Italy, the National Park of Abruzzi is famous for its uncontaminated territory and the marsicano bear, which exemplary are always rarer.
Along the Abruzzi’s Apennine, dominate the mountain panorama the Gran Sasso, the Laga’s mounts and the Majella, from the unique profile. On these mountains, a holiday is recommended both in summer that in winter, when the mountains become a real paradise for people who love snow, with some among the most appreciated Italian skiing places.
In Abruzzi, millennia of history left important testimonies, like the ancient roads of Scanno, the archaeological areas of Amiternum, Alba Fuens, Juvanum and Alfadena, the Roman theatre and Thermal Baths of Chieti, important medieval monuments like the Fountain of 99 cannelle in L’Aquila and a lot of finds guarded in the National Archaeological Museum of Chieti.
Don’t even miss the historical centres of Sulmona, Atri and Lanciano, with beautiful landscapes up to the Adriatic Sea.
The long coast of Abruzzi is also the best for who love sea, that here can find both sandy and rocky beaches.
Among the historical revocations, every year is held in L’Aquila the Perdonanza Celestiniana, to remember the Bolla of the Pardon emanated by Pope Celestino V in 1294.
Besides, Abruzzi got many typical products, absolutely to taste, as cheeses of sheep, oil, Montepulciano red wine, hypocrites and the saffron of Navelli, in province of L’Aquila.
