ITINERARY
This cycling route is hard enough, but in a wonderful natural atmosphere: it runs along the borders of the National Park of the Casentinesi Forests and the Falterona and the Campigna ones. Your are always immersed in beeches, firs and pines forests, far away from traffic and noise.
The climbs are hard, with the harder features to cover on foot.
The descents are in good part are enough technical.
This cycling route is suitable on Spring and Summer time.
CRITICAL POINTS
After the Castle of Montalto, at the first bend, you must continue straight along a little marked path.
Once at Monte Freddo, in correspondence of a median strip, turn left in the central dirt route with a small pole in red and white.
From here ahead, till San Benedetto in Alpe, this sign of varnish supplies a constant aid.
After the point 18, at km 17,9 of the reduction an obstruction in spinato thread, dangerous crosses because little visible.
BY-PASS
Once at Monte Collina you can go right towards Tredozio; after few kilometers, you go left along the dirt road, Scarzana direction, and you arrive in San Benedetto by Rio Secco.
After point 13, at km 11,3, on the left there is a little visible path that goes to Bocconi, on the way back.
At point 20, you can continue on the right; here two alternatives are possible: direction Acquacheta, a longer route, or San Benedetto direction, on the asphalted road.
