Lago d’Ajal – Lago di Pianozes – Lago di San Vito
Itinerary
We leave from Mortisa along the paved road n.428, and arrive at a crossroads after Ponte alto.
Take a right turn (to path n.430) and continue for a 1 km climb until you arrive at Lago d’Ajal, if you take a
left turn you easily descend towards Lago di Pianozes.
From this lake you keep on descending towards the third lake, which is the Lago di San Vito, following the path n.449 to Socol (it is possible to go back to Cortina from Zuel) then you continue along the path n.426 or Alta Via delle Dolomiti n.3.
The route is variable and even its difficulties are pleasant with passages through fields, woods and along the river.
After having crossed the Geralba bridge we keep left of the river Boite towards San Floreano and to the lake.
From here, we cross the Boite river again and looking to the Creste delle Rocchette, we climb a paved road (n.458).
Carefull ! It’s a one-way road for cars and you’ll be travelling in the opposite direction!
The fields of Rifugio Senes and Rifugio Larin are one of the favourite stops for families, as they are easy to reach by car.
You then have a nice descent towards the locality Serdes along road n.458 or the path n.436.
